FOOD PHOTOGRAPHY MASTERCLASS
Whether you’re an enthusiastic beginner or an amateur photographer this masterclass is designed to give you the practical skills needed to take beautiful images of food – or any other product for that matter.

With 20 years of experience as a commercial food photographer I’ll guide you through the same process and techniques I use on professional shoots — explained clearly and simply.

Aimed at hobbyists, bloggers, influencers, small businesses wanting to create their own web and social content and photographers wanting to up their game.

You’ll be asked to bring along one food item or product that you may have baked or cooked or bought which will then be photographed by others on the course. CONTENT
Food, drink and product photography combine a number of different elements, all of which can make or break a beautiful image. All have to be considered equally before you embark on a shoot.
Camera
Settings simplified, good composition, pro cameras to phone cameras.
Lighting
How to put your product in the best possible light using daylight, flash or constant lighting.
Props
Choosing a decent surface and background to enhance the overall image. Additional props may enhance the viewers experience and encourage the sell.
Food styling
Food should look fresh and appetising. You’ll learn how to best showcase your food and draw the viewers eye to what is most interesting.
Editing
Ideally you aim to get as close to your final image by using the tools above, therefore minimising the need for lots of editing. Editing can however enhance your images and allow another level of creativity beyond the real world.
Video
We’ll touch on video and behind-the-scenes footage, but other courses will focus more on video later.
